The Captain Michael Little Scholarship

Captain Michael (Mike) Little built a strong reputation for pioneering a caring and flexible attitude in maritime and nautical education and training. His student-focused philosophy and inspirational character provided many people with the confidence to succeed in obtaining a maritime qualification.

In 1994, MSEAA introduced a scholarship programme in recognition of Captain Little's achievements and contribution to maritime training and education.

The scholarship is built on encouraging excellence in maritime training and education and is awarded to those students who have demonstrated diligent dedication to their studies and who have shown a commitment to further their maritime education.

Since 1994, each MSEAA provider has the opportunity to put forward each year, one student who they feel meets the criteria.

Each year at the Annual Conference, the Mike Little Scholarship Auction raises funds for the scholarship.
